Bernie Johnson

Bernard "Bernie" Johnson, 77, of Friendly, WV passed away January 10, 2022 at Camden Clark Medical Center. He was born March 2, 1944, in Sistersville, WV, a son of the late William Johnson and Betty Shriver Johnson. Bernie retired from the former Union Carbide as an Electrician and was a member of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam.He was also a member of the VFW Post #6327, American Legion Post #48 and the Wetzel Masonic Lodge #39. He was very proud to serve two consecutive terms as Exalted Ruler with the Sistersville ELKS Lodge #333 during their 100th Anniversary Celebration.He was also a 50-year Life Member, a Trustee for 25 years and served 20 years as an Americanism Chairman for the ELKS.He enjoyed donating his time preparing and serving food for the Friday night meals.He enjoyed golfing, horseshoes and playing cards, especially Euchre. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Donna Danser Johnson; sons, Eric (Lynn Lubinsky) Johnson of Pittsburgh, PA and Alan (Stephanie Warner) Johnson of Friendly, WV; brothers, Dana (Edna) Johnson of Sistersville, WV and Rodney (Alesia) Johnson of Parkersburg, WV; sister, Judy Stull of Indiana and grandchildren, Haley Johnson, Alexa Johnson, Cole Johnson, Gavin Johnson and Cooper Johnson. There will be a memorial service at the Sistersville ELKS Lodge on Sunday, June 26, 2022 from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm with Reverend Darrell Mayfield officiating, followed by the ELKS service and full military service.
