Betty Ruth Sheppard

Betty Ruth Sheppard, 83, of Friendly, WV, passed away January 3, 2015 at Sistersville Center. She was born May 18, 1931 in Oklahoma, a daughter of the late Benjamin Fanning and Amanda Mae Mahan Fanning. Betty was a homemaker and a member of the Calvary Apostolic Church of Sistersville. She is survived by her husband, William Clayton Sheppard of Friendly; son, Noel Orin Flynn of Baytown, TX; daughters, Rachael Lewis of Sistersville and Pamela Harris of Odessa, TX; brother, Loy Fanning of Friendly; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Noel Flynn in 1996; daughter, Elizabeth Sanders; son, Paul David Flynn; three sisters and four brothers. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312 or the American Heart Association, 5455 N. There will be a memorial service at Calvary Apostolic Church on January 31, 2015 at 12:00 PM with Pastor David Smith officiating. Interment will be at Friendly Cemetery.
