Billy D. Hart, 76, of Little, Tyler County, WV was taken home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, November 11, 2011 at Liza’s Place in Wheeling, WV. He was born on October 22, 1935 in Nine Mile Community, Pleasants County, WV, a son of the late Raymond and Lennie Roby Hart. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife of 53 years, Roma Thomas Hart. They resided in Little where they raised their 4 children. Bill was a US Army Veteran where he served as a Tank Operator. He retired at age 62 from the Carpenters Union Local 899 and he operated a mobile sawmill business. He was an active member of the Little United Methodist Church. Bill enjoyed fishing – holding the record for the largest fish at the fish camp, horseback riding (barrel racing and shows), farming, woodworking, riding ATV’s and hunting. He loved sweet potatoes and squirrel gravy. Bill was also very generous with his time helping to build several homes throughout the community and assisted with the new addition on the Little United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Roma Thomas Hart, daughter, Brenda Hart of Malta, OH, sons, Tom (Carla) Hart of Newfane, NY, Randy (Norma) Hart of Burlington, WV, Andrew (Rhonda) Hart of Rawlings, MD, seven grandchildren, Jessica and Kelsey Hart (little pranksters), Morgan, Garrett and Lucas Hart (little rascals), and Shania and Cheyenne Hart (singing band aid sisters). Surviving siblings include brothers, Don Hart of St. Marys, WV and Denton Hart of Washington, WV, sisters, Virginia Wilson of Williamstown, WV and Norma Leasburg of Ellenboro, WV. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Harold Hart of St. Marys, WV. Friends and family will be received at Myers Funeral Home, Sistersville, WV on Monday, November 14 from 2 to 8 PM. Services will be held at the Little United Methodist Church on Tuesday, November 15 at 11 AM with Rev. Don Thomas and Pastor Evon Heintzman officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery where a team of horses will take Bill to his final resting place. Military Graveside Rites will be performed at the cemetery.
