Carl R. Clegg, 71, of Friendly, W.Va., passed away Thursday, April 16, 2009, at his residence. He was born Oct. 6, 1937, in New Martinsville, W.Va., a son of the late Sarah Holmes. He had been employed as a crane operator at PPG Industries and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He attended the Church of Christ in Friendly, W.Va. He is survived by his wife, Alberta L. Davis Clegg; three stepsons, Joe (Linda) Camerlin of Colony, Texas, Ed Camerlin of Friendly, W.Va. and Paul (Rindy) Camerlin of Sistersville, W.Va.; one stepdaughter, Betty (Stanley) Craven of Friendly, W.Va.; twelve step-grandchildren; twelve step-great-grandchildren; special cousins, Charles Smith of Cross Lanes, W.Va., Charlotte Blake of New Martinsville, W.Va. and Jane Benefield of New Martinsville, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 19, 2009 at the Myers Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Sistersville, W.Va. with Homer Matthews and Bill Reed officiating. Burial will follow at the Friendly Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
