Carroll D. Vincent

Carroll Darwin Vincent, 74, of George Street, Sistersville, W.Va., died Sunday, December 28, 2008, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va. He was born September 29, 1934, in Harrisville, W.Va., a son of the late Harold and Glady Brinker Vincent. He retired from Bayer Corporation, was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Oxford Street Church of Christ in Sistersville. He was a member of Elks BPOE 333, Sistersville Lions Club, Board of Directors of Sistersville Oil and Gas Festival, and volunteered at the weekly blood pressure clinic at Sistersville General Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Barbara L. Ferrell Vincent. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in November. They were married at the Oxford Street Church of Christ by Minister Ralph H. Hanlin. He is also survived by two sons, Eric (Connie) Vincent of Sistersville and Barry (Kate) Vincent of Irvine, Calif.; one grandson, Kellen Vincent of Irvine, Calif.; two step-granddaughters, Sabrina Reed of Sistersville and Brandi Walton of Friendly, W.Va.; step-great-grandchildren, Sydney and Jace Reed of Sistersville and Brylee and Zander Henderson of Friendly; and sister, Sandra (Jerry) Wilson of Greenwood, S.C. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at the Myers Funeral Home, Sistersville, with Evangelist Jerry Toothman officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Sistersville. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
