Charles Edward Brewer

Charles Edward Brewer, 88, of Sistersville, WV, passed away April 17, 2018, surrounded by his family at Wheeling Hospital. He was born October 8, 1929, in Sistersville, WV, the son of the late William "Dutch" Clint Brewer and Mettie Thompson Brewer. Charles worked for 31 years as an Equipment Operator with the West Virginia Department of Highways. He loved playing ball with his grandkids and he loved mowing his yard. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Norma Jean Phillips Brewer of Sistersville, WV; daughters, Penny (Junior) Lough of Sistersville, Patty (David) McCartney of St. Marys, Doris (Daniel) Grant and Gale (Mike) Grimm, of Sistersville; sisters, Martha Tipton and Rose Mary Kirk; nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, ten great great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, four sisters, one granddaughter and one great-grandson. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Matt Llewellyn officiating. Visitation will be Friday, April 20, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
