Charles Edward "Chuck" Placer

Charles Edward "Chuck" Placer, 64, of Sistersville, WV, passed away March 9, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was born July 20, 1951, in Sistersville, WV, a son of Deloris Tuttle Placer and the late R. Herbert Placer. Chuck was a retired self-employed painter. He was a US Navy veteran and was a member of the St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church. He attended 5th through 8th grade at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic School in New Martinsville; attended Magnolia High School and graduated from Sistersville High School in 1969; he was a member of the Holy Name Society and he loved the WVU Mountaineers. In addition to his mother, Deloris Tuttle Placer of Sistersville, he is survived by his wife, Melissa Welch Placer of Sistersville; sons, Jason (Chandra) Placer of Cowpens, SC and Joshua Placer of Dubai, UAE; and brother, Stephen Placer of Sistersville. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Journey Hospice, 314 S. Wells Street, Sistersville, WV 26175 or to the Olive Branch Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 183, Sistersville, WV 26175 in honor of their dog, Jackson. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 11:00 am at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church with Father John McDonough officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Myers Funeral Home with vigil service at 7:00 pm. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at Greenwood Cemetery.
