Charles W. “Charlie” Hendricks, 83, of Sistersville, WV, passed away on June 24, 2013 at the Arbors in Marietta, OH. He was born January 10, 1930 in Sistersville a son of the late John E. & Audra A. Stewart Hendricks. He was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War, he was retired from PPG and the IBEW Local 596. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Friendly Public Service District. He was an avid golfer and outdoorsman. He was a dedicated fan of the former Sistersville High School Tigers and the Tyler Consolidated Silver Knights. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Thomas Henricks, daughters, Debbie (Mike) Weekley of Sistersville, Rhonda (Bill) Burton of New Martinsville, WV, and Beth (Steve)Roberts of Sistersville,WV, one son Charles W. “Chip” Hendricks, II of Ona, WV, four grandchildren, Andy Weekley, Chase Hendricks, Lindsay Hendricks and Holden Roberts, one great grandchild, Rayleigh Roberts, one sister, Mary Jane Rutherford of Sistersville, WV, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Allen Hendricks and one sister, Hetty Helen Batton. At his request, private services will be held at the convenience of the family at Paden Memorial Gardens, Paden City, WV with Rev. Bill Dawson and the VFW and American Legion Honor Guard officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Charlie’s memory to the Tyler Consolidated High School, ATTN: Knights Athletics, 1993 Silver Knights Drive, Sistersville, WV, 26175. Myers Funeral Home, Sistersville, WV, is assisting the family.
