Christopher "Criss" Hale Rice

Christopher "Criss" Hale Rice, 51, of Friendly, WV, passed away, November 17, 2014 at home. He was born February 25, 1963, in Sistersville, WV, a son of Herbert Rice and Mary Lou Barnhart Rice. Criss was a Potman with the former Ormet Aluminum Corporation, a member of the Sistersville Fire Department and a member of the Pursley Church of Christ. He enjoyed hunting, especially turkeys. It was his passion for hunting that inspired him to operate a taxidermy business. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Diane Rial Rice of Friendly; daughter, Kelly Rice; son, Jake Rice, both of Friendly; brothers, Robert "Bob" L. Rice of Friendly and William "Bill" (Teresa) Rice of Sistersville; sister, Linda (Steve) Leasure of Sistersville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Floyd Rice and Clema Gragg Rice and maternal grandparents, Robert Barnhart and Rebecca Stewart Barnhart. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke, DUMC Box 3624, Durham, NC 27710. Services will be Saturday at 1:00 pm at Myers Funeral Home with Evangelist Tom Butterfield officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Myers Funeral Home.
