Clyde Ray Hunt

Clyde Ray Hunt, 86, of Sistersville, WV, departed this life on July 5, 2012 at his home. He was born October 3, 1925 in Hickory, PA, a son of the late Joseph Atley Hunt and Lucinda Morris Hunt. Ray was raised near Littleton, WV. He served in the US Navy during WWII in the South Pacific. He worked as a repairman in the maintenance department at PPG for thirty-eight years. He enjoyed nature, fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Oxford Street Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Braxie Leurella Whiteman Hunt, whom he married on February 8, 1952; son, Joseph (Betty) Hunt of New Matamoras, OH; daughters, Judy Perkins of Newport, OH, Mary (Jeff) Adams of Fairmont, WV and Susan (Steve) Racer of Slicker Falls; sister, Faye Kocher of Steelton; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John D. Hunt of New Martinsville and Bryce Hunt of Prescott, AZ and sister, Mary Hunt of Littleton, WV. There will be a graveside service on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Northview Cemetery with Evangelist Jerry Toothman officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Oxford Street Church of Christ, 219 Oxford Street, Sistersville, WV 26175.
