Cronie Estel Summers

Cronie Summers, 95, of Sistersville, WV, passed away March 7, 2012. She was born July 4, 1916, a daughter of the late Charley Lamp and Leota Lamp. Cronie was a homemaker and she enjoyed playing bingo. She loved to cook and will be remembered for those Sunday dinners and making homemade apple butter and sandwich spread and giving it away. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by son, Junior (Linda) Owens of Sistersville; daughters, Shirley (Ron) Wilkinson and Edith Owens of Sistersville and Nellie Riggs of Middlebourne; twenty-nine grandchildren, forty-five great-grandchildren and twenty-seven great great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lloyd Owens in 1962, second husband, Ray Summers in 1983; brothers, Roy, Clarence, Collie, Truman, James and Glen; sister, Vesta Munday; daughters, Pearl Dawson and Alice Brightwell and grandchildren, Karen Shuman and Rick Dawson. Services will be Sunday at 1:00 pm at Myers Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Dawson officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 4-8 pm at Myers Funeral Home. Interment will be at McKim Cemetery.
