Darlene Freeman, 80, of Friendly, WV, passed away on September 9, 2020 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born August 22, 1940, in Paden City, WV, a daughter of the late Wilbert Blatt and Pearl Mayfield Blatt. Darlene was the Manager at Dudley's Florist for many years. She loved arts and crafts, sewing, reading, writing and poetry. She was most known for her "Clowning Around Club", where she performed as a clown in several local parades. She also loved to travel and write her blogs about her adventures with her car "PT". She is survived by her son, Kenneth "David" (Renee) Freeman, II of Parkersburg, WV; daughter, Melinda "Jill" (Scott) Childers of Blythedale, PA; grandchildren, Rachael Freeman, Kenneth David Freeman, III, Audrey Childers and Nicholas Childers; brother, Edwin (Ida) Blatt; several aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth David Freeman. Services will be Wednesday at 1:00 pm at Myers Funeral Home with Pat Stillwagner officiating.
