David Edward Dronsfield, 75, of, of Friendly, WV passed away June 27, 2015 at Camden Clark Hospital. He was born January 19, 1940, in Rochester, NY, a son of the late Raymond Dronsfield and Ruth Miller Dronsfield. He was a United States Navy veteran, a member of Sistersville Elks BPOE #333, American Legion Post #67 and VFW Post #6327. Dave was a dear friend to many. He had a dream many, many years ago of becoming a mountain man and he succeeded. He had many passions, including deck gardening, his dogs and the many people he called family and friends. Dave had a fight for life which was evident in all that he did from his memberships in several organizations, to his persistence in his gardening to those he chose to surround himself with. Dave was easily recognized by his tall, strong stature and his dogs. Dogs were a plenty on the hill, a staple just like a warm welcome. Dave never knew a stranger. He would always have a cold drink and a delicious meal for whoever happened to stop by. He is survived by his son, Kevin (Anita) Blum of Cincinnati, OH; daughters, Janeal (Ted) Hardoby of Wellington, OH and Samantha (Kevin) Stump of Wellington, OH; brother, John Dronsfield, sister, Mary Field and seven grandchildren. His family has honored his request for cremation without a service. Myers Funeral Home, Sistersville, WV, is assisting the family with arrangements.
