David O'Neil Wells

David O'Neil Wells, 75, of Sistersville, WV, passed away on September 16, 2021 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born April 24, 1946, in Sistersville, WV, to the late Earl R. Wells and Esther Roselean Wells. Dave retired as a Welder with PPG Industries and was in the United States Army Reserves for 13 years.He was a member of the Pursley Church of Christ and was an Auctioneer for Wells Auction Service for many years.Dave was most known for Wells Covered Wagon and Carriage Rides in which he traveled to fairs and festivals, riding in parades throughout neighboring counties and states.He took pride in serving local families riding in their Proms, weddings and funerals. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Crawford Wells; children, Tamara K. Wells, David Earl Wells (Kimberly) and Holly Leanne Wells (Buddy Pardine); grandchildren, Sarah Katherine Moore (Nathan), Hunter O'Neil Wells and John David Wells; great-granddaughter, Addison Renae Wells and another soon-to-be great-granddaughter; sisters, Margaret Mahoney (Pat) and Janet Rogers and brother, William Wells (Karren). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Jacob Edward Nething. There will be a memorial service at the Pursley Church of Christ on October 2, 2021 at 1:00 PM.
