Delbert Cecil Owens

Delbert C. Owens, 67, of Sistersville, WV was taken to Heaven on March 3, 2013 at Sistersville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born October 1, 1945 in Wick, WV a son of the late Herman Delbert and Goldie B. McCune Owens. He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and he was a member of the Elks Lodge #333 and American Legion Post #67, and a lifetime member of the VFW Post #6327 all of Sistersville. He was retired from American Steel in Alliance, Ohio. He is survived by one daughter, Crissy and Jeff Carpenter, loving friend and companion of nine years, Doris Bassett of Sistersville, two Sisters, Phyliss (Jim) Hickman of Middlebourne, WV, Judy (John) Smith of Sandusky, Ohio, two brothers, Tom (Linda) Owens of Sistersville and Earl (Linda) Owens of Parkersburg, WV. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Violia Frguson, two brothers, Kahle Owens and Kenneth Owens. Services will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 11 AM at Myers Funeral Home, Sistersville, WV with Rev. Bill Dawson officiating. Burial will follow at Paden Memorial Gardens, Paden City, WV with military graveside rites. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
