Doris Bassett

Doris Bassett, 85, of Sistersville, WV, passed away June 2, 2024 at home with her family by her side.

She was born October 12, 1938, in Sistersville, WV, a daughter of the late Elmer Fletcher and Rada Ice Fletcher.

Doris was a member of the Buck Run Church of Christ.  She loved watching all sports, taking care of her berries and gardening.

She is survived by step-sons, George (Betty) Bassett, Mike Bassett and Bill (Terri) Bassett; step-daughters, Maxine Ankrom, Barbara (Junior) Cooper, Dottie (Ron) Perine and Margaret (Howard) Moffitt Stansberry, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; her dog “little man” and special niece, Rada Weekley and nephew, Neven Moffitt.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Jerry Yost and Ervin Bassett; six step-sons; four step-daughters; sister, Elaine Moffitt Evans and special friend, Delbert Owens.

Special thanks to Journey Hospice, step-son, Mike Bassett and niece, Rada Weekley for taking such great care of Doris.

Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Myers Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be Saturday at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Evangelist Ken Keifer officiating.  Interment will be in Tuttle Cemetery.
