Dorothy Shreves

Dorothy Shreves, 76, of Sistersville, WV, passed away peacefully at home on October 30, 2022.

She was born February 21, 1946, in Sistersville, WV, a daughter of the late Kenneth Johnson and Helen Ice Johnson.

Dorothy was a member of the Sistersville First Baptist Church where she was the organist for over 50 years.  She was a graduate of the SHS Class of 1964 where she enjoyed performing in the band and being a majorette.  She loved to play the piano, and collect rocks.  She had a soft spot in her heart for her pets and she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Pat and Kathy would like to thank the caregivers for taking such special care of their parents.

She is survived by her son, Patrick (Leona) Shreves of Sistersville, WV; daughter, Kathy (Neil) Michael of Sistersville, WV; grandchildren, Isaac (Kalea) Michael, Levi Shreves and Madison Shreves, all of Sistersville, WV; great-grandchildren, Kash and Gracelynn Michael; brothers, Bill (Janet) Johnson and Dan (Pat) Johnson; sister, Nancy (James) McMullen and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Shreves, who passed in February, 2022,

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Journey Hospice, 314 S. Wells Street, Sistersville, WV 26175.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 pm, Friday, November 4, 2022 at Myers Funeral Home with Pastor Darrell Mayfield officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at the funeral home.
