Ellen C. Smith

Ellen C. Smith, 91, of Sistersville, WV, passed away August 28, 2012 at her residence. She was born August 4, 1921, in Sistersville, a daughter of the late Arthur Carroll and Audrey Fisk Carroll. Ellen graduated from Sistersville High School and she was retired from Ormet. She was a member of the Baptist Church, but recently attended the Christian Church. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved her family. She is survived by sons, Harry G. Buchanan of Sistersville and Larry (Barbara) Smith of New Martinsville; daughters, Joyce A. Coplin of Sistersville and Sharon (Chuck) Strope of Moundsville; grandchildren, Jack (Missy) Buchanan of New Martinsville, Jadd (Sue) Buchanan of Bridgeport, WV, Scott Buchanan of Sistersville, Tom (Lisa) Buchanan of Millstone, WV, Meri (Brock) Holmes of Ocean Isle, NC, Jo (David) Rodriguez of Fort Dix, NJ, Jennifer (Josh) Cook of Morgantown, Jill (Randy) Kerns of Grafton, WV, Jeff (Stormy) Coplin of Flemington, WV,Jay (Debbie) Coplin of Flemington, WV and Destiny Coplin; great-grandchildren, Matthew Buchanan of NC, Nikki Buchanan of Parkersburg, Emily Buchanan of Bridgeport, WV, Alexis and Elise Rodriguez of NJ, Ryan Freeman, Gage Clifton and Abbey Clifton of Bridgeport, WV, Brock and Brooke Holmes of NC, Harley Kerns of Grafton, Tanna Coplin, Jada Boyles and Asa Coplin of Flemington, WV, Justin Price of Millstone, WV and Amanda Vansickle of Geneva, OH; and great, great-grandchildren, McKenzie Buchanan of NC and Mathew, Makayla and Makenna Vansickle, OH and cousin, Carolyn Sterns. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman O. Smith, brother, Eugene Carroll, granddaughter, Jodie Clifton and Great-grandson, Mitchell Kerns. Services will be Friday at 11:00 am at Myers Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Dawson and Lindsey Carroll officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 pm at Myers Funeral Home.
