Baker, Elsie Marie Parr, 84, of Middlebourne, WV, passed away August 5, 2009, after a brief illness at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. Thank you, Lord, for my beautiful mother-for the love she always gives me and her friendship that is never-failing, for her kind eyes that see the best in me and her gentle wisdom that carries me through, for her prayers that lift me up and the dreams she holds in her heart for me, for the happy memories we’ve made together and all the hugs and smiles we’ve yet to share-I am forever grateful. Love, Lady. She was born May 28, 1925 in Middlebourne, WV, to the late Samuel M. Parr and Pera F. Keller Parr. She was preceded in death by her sister Eva Mead and stepmother Mae Weekley Parr. Elsie was retired from Corning Glass in the Glazing Department and was a member of the Middlebourne United Methodist Church. She is survived by sons, Richard S. Baker of Middlebourne, WV and Shirl N. Baker, Jr., of Middlebourne, WV; daughters, Marie S. Eddy of Middlebourne, WV, and Sandra F. Young, of Baltic, OH; grandchildren, Missy Moore, Paul Baker, Steve Eddy, Selena Straughn, Grant M. Phendler, J. Douglas Young, Brittany Young, Angela Wolfe, Shirl N. Baker, III and Betty S. Baker; fifteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Roy Parr of Ohio, John Parr of Middlebourne, Joe Parr of Ohio, Ray Parr of Middlebourne and sister Eleanor Stewart of Havana, FL. She was also preceded in death by her husband Shirl N. Baker; daughter, Linda S. Phendler; grandson, Jaime Young; brother, Jimmy Parr, Howard Weekley, George Parr and Benny Parr; and sister, Phyllis Hallmark. Arrangements made by Myers Funeral Home, Sistersville, WV.
