Emmett "Rusty" Richeson

Emmett "Rusty" Richeson, 83, of Sistersville, WV, passed away on December 5, 2015 at home, surrounded by his family. He was born November 21, 1932, in Pursley, WV, a son of the late Irwin Richeson and Goldie Michaels Richeson. Rusty was a Deckhand with the Sistersville Ferry for 18 years, a mechanic for Kincheloe Motors, a taxi driver for many years, and a member of the Boiler Makers Union. He was also a Lifetime member of the Sistersville ELKS #333 and a dedicated Tyler for the ELKS for several years, a member of the VFW Post 6324 and American Legion Post #67. He loved gardening, playing "St. Nick" for the kids and his faithful companion, Bailey. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Turner Richeson of 59 years; son, Adam Richeson, of Sistersville, WV; daughters, Barbara Richeson of Paden City, WV, Bonnie (Dave Goddard) Richeson of Sistersville, WV, Shawna Richeson of Sistersville, WV; brother, Loney "Dean" (Hella) Richeson of Waynesburg, PA; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Richeson; daughter, Aleta Gale McNemar; two sisters and four brothers. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Journey Hospice, 314 S. Wells Street, Sistersville, WV 26175. Services will be Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Myers Funeral Home with Pastor Darrell Mayfield officiating.
