Eric Knapp Brown, of Port St. Lucie, FL passed peacefully in his home surrounded by family on April 8, 2020. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Born October 7, 1950, in New Martinsville, WV, he was the son of the late Charles Brown, Jr. and Ruby Merle Brown. Eric is survived by his wife Saundra of 45 years, sons, Brian K. Brown (Kalieta Grant), Charles E. Brown (Michelle), and daughter Debra C. Brown; grandchildren, Hayden, Davin, Grady, Hudson, Austin, and Cooper; sister, Susan Brown Nally; and numerous nieces and nephews. Eric is a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served from 1969-1973. Upon arrival home, he went to work for his father as a mechanic, eventually taking over as President of Brown’s Excavating, Inc. Eric was a well-respected general contractor providing service amongst many states. He wore a multitude of hats and facilitated the needs of many, always a giver and a provider, seeing the best in every situation, an honest employer who saw the good in every employee. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 14th, 2020 at Aycock Funeral Home in Port Saint Lucie, FL from 2:00-4:00 p.m., with services beginning at 3:00 p.m. West Virginia services will be announced at a later date. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in New Martinsville, WV. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice in Port Saint Lucie, FL. Due to current CDC recommendations, a facemask and gloves must always be worn. A celebration of life will be held on June 6, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Greenlawn Cemetery, New Martinsville, WV.
