Frances Webb, 89, of Sistersville, WV, passed away, March 10, 2016 at Sistersville Center. She was born December 22, 1926, a daughter of the late Franklin Hill and Martha Roberts Hill. Frances owned and operated the Lilac Door Antique Shop in Friendly; she was an original member of the SGH Lilac Twig and a member of the Sistersville Garden Club; she was very active with the Sistersville First Presbyterian Church, serving as elder, deacon and trustee and she was President of the Presbyterian Women's Association; she was active with Ruth Moore in the restoration of the Tyler County Museum; she served as General Chairman of the Oil & Gas Festival and co-chair for the Man of the Year dinner with Lorraine Owens and co-chair of the craft division; she was the first lady to be elected to the Tyler County Board of Education; she was Chief Financial Officer for the restoration of The Wells Inn where she proudly earned the title "General"; she and Ruth Moore edited the history of SHS from its inception to its closure in 1993; she loved to bake and deliver cookies to the shut-ins and elderly in town; she was an officer in the republican women and very active with the decoration and organization of the Lincoln Day Dinner and she loved her dear friends Lorraine Owens and Martha Craig as well as her dear friend former Governor Underwood. She is survived by her sons, Marcus Webb of Reynoldsburg, OH and Malcolm Webb of Parkersburg, WV; daughters, Sharon Deaton of Parkersburg, WV and Tamara Webb of Grover Beach, CA; sister, Joyce Gerber of Sistersville; grandson, Darrin Deaton; great-granddaughters, Abigail and Alyssa Deaton; sister-in-law, Martha Jean Hill and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Philip Webb and brother, Howard Hill. Services will be Monday at 1:00 pm at Myers Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Dunfee officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Myers Funeral Home.
