Frank P. Minnite, 91, of Paden City, WV died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on November 14, 2012. He was born October 8, 1921 in Locri, Calabria, Italy the son of the late Patsy and Rosa Oppedisano Minnite. Frank migrated from Italy at the age of eight with his parents and younger sister, Katherine. They came to America through Ellis Island and settled in Meadowbrook, WV. He moved his family to Paden City, WV in 1962. He was an active member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Sistersville. He was retired from the Pot Room at Ormet Corporation. He was a WWII Army Veteran serving in the Normandy Invasion and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of the VFW Post 6327, New Martinsville Moose Lodge, and United Steel Workers Union 5724. He served as Treasurer for the Paden City Lions Club and the Ormet Retirees Club 5724 for many years. He was a board member of The Council of Senior Tyler Countians. He was a devoted husband and father. The greatest joys of his life were his grandchildren and great – grandchildren. He was an avid golfer and loved taking care of his home and yard. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary V. Spino Minnite; daughters, Rose Marie (Larry) Young of Sistersville and Connie (David) Koon of New Martinsville; grandchildren, Stacey (Mark) Kasun, Kristina (Bryan) DeLisio, Matthew Koon, Adam Koon and Nicholas Koon; great-grandchildren, Gianna and Rocco DeLisio and Brody Kasun; brothers, Pat (Judy) Minnite of Vienna and Joe (Rose Marie) Minnite of Clarksburg and sister, Shirley VanGilder of Clarksburg, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Katherine Minnite and Tressa Goots. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 11:30 am at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Sistersville with Father Jim McCafferty officiating. Visitation will be held at Myers Funeral Home on Sunday, November 18, 2012 from 1-9 pm with rosary devotions at 7:00 pm and with the wake service at 8:00 pm.
