Garnett E. Conklin

Conklin, Garnett E., 87, formerly of Sistersville, WV, died September 12, 2009 at the Garden of Western Reserve in Streetsboro, OH. She was born November 3, 1921, in Martins Ferry, OH, daughter of the late Albert Harter and Rosa Hawkins Harter. She was a homemaker and a member of the Oxford Street Church of Christ, Sistersville, WV. She is survived by daughters Barbara Nering of Kent, OH, Melanie Carnes of Columbus, OH, and DeVonna Howell of Key West, FL; sisters Geneva Posten of Akron, OH and Dora Conner of Mineral Wells, WV; three grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Willard Howell and second husband Walter Conklin; brothers Clarence Harter, Russell Harter, Louis Harter and Harold Harter; sisters Leona Haythorn, Vickie Styer, Norma Blair, Helen Ankrom, Opal Fox; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery, Sistersville, WV, Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Evangelist Jerry Toothman officiating. Arrangements by Myers Funeral Home, Sistersville, WV.
