Gary Lee Hisam

Gary Lee Hisam, 64, of Friendly, WV, passed away, May 23, 2018 at home surrounded by his family. He was born November 1, 1953 in Sistersville, WV, a son of the late Lawrence Gayle Hisam and Evelyn Mae Wells Hisam. Gary was a residential contractor, owning Hisam's Home Improvements often working on jobs with his children. He also worked for Quarto Mine #7. He loved to hunt, fish, shoot guns and coach his children's sporting events. He was a 1972 graduate of Sistersville High School, a member of the Sistersville ELKS BPOE #333, was very involved with Sistersville Junior Athletics and loved Alumni Weekend. He formerly owned The Joint and The Country Cupboard. Gary is survived by his wife of 42 years, Deborah Shepherd Hisam; sons, Wyatt Hisam of Friendly, WV and Gavin (Chasity) Hisam of Parkersburg, WV; daughter, Myriah Hisam of Columbus, OH; and grandchildren, Caden, Jaide, Bently and Corbin Hisam. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brothers, Larry and Gene Hisam. In lieu of flowers, please contact Peoples Bank, Sistersville, WV to donate to the education for the grandchildren of Gary Hisam. On May 26, 2018 from 2-5 pm, there will be an informal celebration of Gary's life at the home he and his wife built and have lived in since 1983 on Friendly Hill.
