Gary W. Taylor, 70, Friendly, WV, passed away August 20, 2018 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born August 4, 1948, in Port Clinton, OH, the son of the late Floyd Taylor and Eileen Humphrey Taylor. Gary worked as a Chemical Operator at Momentive Performance Materials, the former Union Carbide plant for 33 years. He was a United States Navy veteran and he attended the Sistersville First United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Sistersville American Legion Post #67. He loved watching football and he was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. Annually, he enjoyed vacationing at the beach with his wife, three daughters and their families. Most of all he enjoyed his grandchildren's activities. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kezia Marie Taylor of Friendly, WV; daughters, Juanita (Michael) Malone of Laurel, MD, Carrie (Steve) Gorrell of Sistersville, WV and Holly (Dan) Watkins of Friendly, WV; siblings, Ellen (Jack) Riley of Beallsville, OH, Tom (Donna) Taylor of Woodsfield, OH and Steve (Christie) Taylor of Clarington, OH; grandchildren, Allison Malone, Claire Malone, Kate Gorrell, Ava Gorrell, Ty Watkins and Laney Watkins; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Roger Knuchel and grandson, Andrew Malone. There will be a memorial service to celebrate the life of Gary on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the Sistersville First United Methodist Church. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am with the service to follow at 11:00 am.
