Geneva Matheny, 95, of Sistersville, WV, passed away on February 3, 2022 at home, surrounded by her family. She was born February 28, 1926 in Weston, WV, to the late Emery Adams and Emily Adams Flesher. Geneva was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church and she attended Sistersville First Baptist Church.She worked at G.C. Murphy in Clarksburg, WV and then Sistersville, WV and she enjoyed cooking. She had a deep passion for her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Lydle Scott (Melody) Matheny of Paden City, WV; daughters, Connie Jo Matheny (Eric) Vincent of Sistersville, WV and Sonya Lee (Charles) Gragg of Parkersburg, WV; grandchildren, Sabrina (Chad) Buchanan, Brandice (Rick) Walton, Joseph Scott (Shawnna) Matheny, II, James Ray (Theresa Owens) Matheny, Jennifer Jean (Terry) Coleman; great-grandchildren, Sydney (Dylan Reynolds) Reed, Jace Reed, Jaxon Buchanan, Brylee Henderson, Zander Henderson, Breagan Walton, Codie Roberts, Jaden Roberts, Joseph Matheny, III, Nicholas Matheny, Cannon Matheny and Matthew Matheny and great great-grandchild, Leighton Reynolds. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Matheny; four sisters and three brothers. Visitation will be Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Myers Funeral from 10:00 am until time of service at noon with Pastor Darrell Mayfield officiating.Interment will be at Troy IOOF Cemetery.
