George Alan Eddy, 59, of Friendly, WV passed away on October 12, 2021, surrounded by his family and friends. George was born in Morgantown, WV, on February 22, 1962.He was born on George Washington's birthday, hence the name.His parents were Edward and Hilda Tarr Eddy.He was the last of 6 children, although his father wanted a dozen.He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Rodney. George grew up and lived most of his entire life around Friendly and Middle Island Creek.He was an avid hunter and fisherman.This was his passion. He was married to the love of his life, Diana Lynn McCaman, on August 22, 1992.She survives him along with his 3 children; daughter, Teya Henthorn (Adam Dennis) of Middlebourne, WV; sons, Chad Eddy of Nelsonville, OH and Jeremy Henthorn of Morgantown, WV.George also had 5 grandchildren that were the light of his life; Raustyn Wade, Tiauna Mathis, Lynnaya Dennis, Kohlson and Kaleigh Dennis. Also surviving are 5 siblings, Darla Collins, Charles (Pat) Eddy and Mark (Patricia) Eddy, all of Friendly, WV, Brenda Eddy (Ivan Huck) of Lowell, OH and David (Brenda) Eddy of Madison, AL.George had many nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, all of whom loved him dearly. George had many good and wonderful friends that stood by him to the very end.He had a personality that a person couldn't help but love.His laugh was infectious.Through his struggles with ALS and then COVID, George tried his best to continue to fight to remain here with everyone that he loved.No one will ever forget him or his tremendous courage. By the way, on George's last night with us, he finally caught that big fish!He told us about it. There will be a visitation on Saturday, October 16, 2021 from noon until the funeral service at 2:00 pm with Pastor Darrell Mayfield officiating.
