George "John" Ervin Moffitt

George Ervin "John" Moffitt, 70, of New Martinsville, WV, passed away January 28, 2019 at home. He was born July 25, 1948, in Tyler County, WV, a son of the late Herman Moffitt and Elaine Moffitt Evans. George was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator at Martin Marietta. He was a member of the Sistersville Church of the Nazarene. He loved to fish and he was a "shade tree mechanic". He is survived by his wife, Margaret Moffitt of New Martinsville, WV; son, Jason (Jeni) Moffitt of New Martinsville, WV; daughters, Jessica (Jason) Wyke of Goose Creek, SC, Missy (Ed) McLaughlin of Weirton, WV and Shari Frum of Sistersville, WV; sister, Rada Weekley of Sistersville, WV; brothers, Coy Moffitt and Neven Moffitt, both of Sistersville, WV; Aunt, Doris Bassett of Sistersville, WV; grandchildren, Logan and Rydge Moffitt, Brenyn and Kailyn Pallisco, Sammie and Jacob Frum, Lacie Thomas and Sierra McLaughlin; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Candy Shepherd. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Myers Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Tuttle Cemetery. Online condolences may be offered at myersfuneralhomewv.com.
