Harry Gene Buchanan

Harry Gene Buchanan, 76, of, Sistersville, WV, passed away December 16, 2015, at OVMC surrounded by his family. He was born January 26, 1939 in Sistersville, WV, a son of the late Harry Eugene Buchanan and Ellen C. Smith. Harry was a member of Sistersville Elks BPOE #333 and the American Legion Post #67. He loved hunting and fishing and he dearly loved his family. He is survived by his sons, Harry Scott (Danyel) Buchanan of Slicker Falls, WV and Thomas Wayne (Lisa) Buchanan of Calhoun County, WV; daughters, Meri Ellen (Brock) Holmes of Shallotte, NC and Jo Helen (David) Rodriguez of Hope Mills, NC; sister, Joyce Coplin of Sistersville, WV; step-sister, Sharon Strope of Moundsville, WV; step-brother, Larry Smith of New Martinsville, WV; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Jo Buchanan. There will be a memorial service on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Myers Funeral Home with Pastor Darrell Mayfield officiating. Inurnment will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
