Harry D. Weltz, 88, of Sistersville, WV, passed away, February 14, 2018 at Sistersville General Hospital. He was born April 3, 1929, in Cambridge, OH, a son of the late Harry C. Weltz and Glenna Meighen Weltz. Following graduation from Magnolia High School, he served in the Army of the United States as a Military Policeman in Germany. He was among the first employees hired in 1955 to staff the Union Carbide Plant at Long Reach. After 36 years of service, he retired as an Instrument Mechanic in 1991. A Christian since 1938, he is survived by his wife, Kay Starkey Weltz of Sistersville, WV; several nephews and nieces and great-nephews and great-nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Victor Weltz and his sister, Louise Woods. Visitation will be Saturday from 2-6 pm at Myers Funeral Home. Per his wishes, there will be no funeral. A graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family led by Eric Vincent and with full military rites.
