Herbert "Herb" Dee Fletcher

Herbert "Herb" Dee Fletcher, 94, of Sistersville, WV, passed away August 30, 2015 at Ritchie's Personal Care Home. He was born August 9, 1921 in Middlebourne, WV, a son of the late, Delbert Fletcher and Mattie Thompson Fletcher. Herb was retired from Bayer Corporation and he was a United States Army veteran and Army Air Corp veteran serving in World War II. He was presented with the WWII Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon and the Army Occupation Medal (Japan). He was a member of the Pursley Church of Christ and the Duffy Church of Christ. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Chuck) York of Roanoke, VA; brother, Earl (Barbara) Fletcher and sisters, Gladys Gregg and Janice Curtis, all of Middlebourne, WV. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen McIntyre Fletcher in 2006, brothers, Robert Fletcher, Paul Fletcher and Jimmie Fletcher and sister, Sybil Tallman. Services will be Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 11:00 am at Myers Funeral Home with Evangelist Tom Butterfield and Greg Yost officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery with full military rites. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Tuesday at Myers Funeral Home.
