Hilda Wright

Hilda Wright, 96, of Sistersville, WV, passed away on February 13, 2023 at home.

She was born February 27, 1926, in Friendly, WV, to the late Oliver Henry Hays and Laura Mae Duty Hays.

Hilda was a member of the Pursley Church of Christ, Daughters of the American Revolution, Republican Women of Tyler County and Constitution Advocates.

She is survived by her daughters, Virginia "Ginger"(Bob) Nalley of Sistersville, WV and Frances (Gary) Weekley of Friendly, WV, son Glen William “Bill” (Dawn) Wright Jr. of Sistersville, WV, nieces and nephews that she raised, Nila (Lynn) Weekley of Friendly, WV, Thelma Vandall of New Matamoras, OH, Neoma (Larry) Spratt of Paden City, WV, Bruce (Flora) Hays of Bens Run, WV, and Brad (Sondra) Hays of  Ashland, OH; grandchildren, Doretta (Travis) Morrison, Robert “Bobby” (Heather) Nalley, Jr., Steve Weekley, Gretta (Todd) Tome, Andy (Maddie) Weekley, Mike (Kelly) Weekley, Lou Wright, Derek Wright and Aaron Wright; 25 great-grandchildren and 19 great great-grandchildren, many great nieces and nephews and great great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Wright, Sr.; brother, Thomas Hays, sister-in-law, Shirley Oliver Hays, sister, Frances Hays Barney, brother-in-law, Herbert Barney, son-in-law, Robert “Bob” Nalley and nephew-in-law, Larry Spratt.

As per Hilda's wishes, there will be a private graveside service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to some of Hilda’s favorite organizations - Wounded Warrior Project, Tunnel to Towers and other disabled veterans projects.
