Jack H. Bowen

Bowen, Jack H., 65, of Sistersville, WV, died July 27, 2009. He was born January 27, 1944 in Sistersville, WV, a son of the late Robert O. Bowen and Elizabeth Miles Bowen. Jack was a 1961 graduate of Sistersville High School. Jack proudly served his beloved hometown of Sistersville, WV as a former Councilman and Mayor. For 47 years he was a member of the Sistersville Volunteer Fire Department where he served as Fire Chief for two separate terms. Jack was also a member of the Sistersville VFW Post 6327 and the Sistersville American Legion Post 67. Jack was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a retiree of the Carbon Plant at Ormet Primary Reduction Division. He is survived by one brother, Bob (Jo Ann) Bowen of Sistersville, WV. Memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Sistersville, Saturday, August 1, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Reverend Bill Dawson officiating. Friends will be received at 10:00 AM until time of service. Private graveside service at the cemetery.
