James "Jim" E. Howard

James E. "Jim" Howard, 77, of Sistersville, WV, passed away on March 15, 2023 at Sistersville Center after a challenging illness with Parkinson's.

He was born October 23, 1945, in Sistersville, WV, a son of the late Lawrence Archer Howard and Margaret Starkey Howard.

Jim enlisted with the United States Air Force, serving from 1964-1967.  Following his return from the Air Force, he worked for Mobay/Bayer and retired after 38 years of service.  He was a Methodist by faith.  He was a longtime NASCAR fan and an avid car enthusiast and collector along with his friend, Bill Jeffries.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gail Holsonback Howard, of Sistersville, WV; daughter, Jaime (Emel) Hissam of Sistersville, WV; step-grandchildren, Amelia and Brock Hissam; step great-grandchildren, Keegan Ebert and Urijah Mossor and several cousins and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Larry, Eugene and Jack.

The family would like to thank Jim's caregiver, Carolyn Leek and Journey Hospice for their dedicated care.

As per Jim's wishes, there will be no services.
