James William Dearth, 85, of Bens Run, WV, passed away, November 23, 2017, at the Arbors of Marietta. He was born July 20, 1932, in Bens Run, WV, a son of the late Bill and Blanche Mott Dearth. Jim was a U.S. Army veteran and he was a graduate of Sistersville High School. He was a member of the Long Reach Methodist Church in Bens Run, WV until it's closing and he later attended the Friendly United Methodist Church. He was a founding member of the Tyler Rod & Gun Club in Little, WV and he was a member of the Local Ironworker's Union #549. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his son, Bill (Terri) Dearth of Bridgeport, WV and daughter, Jan (Dan) Brewer of St. Mary's, WV and grandchildren, Matthew Dearth and Jenny Brewer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma June Turner Dearth in 2005; infant daughter, Jocelyn Dearth and sister, Mary Jane Holliday. Visitation will be Saturday from 5-8 pm at Myers Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Sistersville, WV. There will be a visitation Sunday, November 26, 2017 from 1:00–3:00 pm with funeral services beginning at 3:00 pm with Reverend Clare J. Sulgit officiating. Interment will follow at Paden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Journey Hospice, 314 S.
