Joan Springer Hadley, 82, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister of Sistersville, WV died October 20, 2013 at Ritchies Personal Care Home in Sistersville. She was born in Sistersville, January 27, 1931 a daughter of the late Bill and Bobbie Doig Springer. Joan was retired from the Tyler County Board of Education as a teachers aid. She was a member of the Sistersville First Presbyterian Church. She loved her hometown of Sistersville and was very proud of being “Miss SHS” in the class of 1949 and a majorette in the marching band. Joan also attended West Virginia University. She loved family, friends and enjoyed the times of cruising up and down the Ohio River on the “Misty Isle.” She is survived by her son Steve(Janet) Hadley of Sistersville, granddaughter, Shay (Stevie) Seago of Middlebourne, WV, great –grandson,, Brayden Seago, brother, Bill(Jennifer) Springer, New Cumberland, WV, nephew, Nathan(Cathy) Springer, Weirton, WV, niece, Erin Springer, Clinton, N.C., uncle, Colin(Ann) Doig, Sistersville, WV and several cousins. Joan was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Gene Hadley who lovingly called her “Beaut.” Services will be Wednesday, October 23 at 1:00pm at Myers Funeral Home with Reverand Colleen Griffith officiating.
