Joan Foland Stewart

Joan Foland Stewart, 78, of Sistersville, WV, passed away October 12, 2015 at Sistersville General Hospital. She was born June 8, 1937 in New Martinsville, WV, a daughter of the late Curtis Cecil and Florence Elizabeth Cecil. Joan was a loving mother who always put her children before herself. She was retired from Ormet Corporation after 22 years working in the lab and she also loved to play bingo. She is survived by her sons, Brian Scott Foland of Middlebourne, WV, William Timothy "Tim" (Gail) Foland of St. Marys, WV and Samuel Bill "Sam" Foland of Paden City, WV; daughter, Karen Sue Foland of Middlebourne, WV; sisters, Marie Locke of Barberton, OH and Rosaline Fleck of St. Cloud, FL; ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Foland, daughter, Tara Dawn Fisher and brothers, Adrian Cecil, Jeff Cecil and Elmer Cecil. Her family has honored her request for cremation. There will be a memorial service held at a later date. Interment will be at Cecil Family Cemetery.
