Joan Stewart, 82, of Sistersville, WV, entered into God’s Kingdom surrounded by her loving family on June 22, 2010. She was born January 10, 1928, a daughter of the late Paul Frum and Marjorie Hubbard Frum in Tyler County, WV. After graduating high school, she worked for the FBI in Washington, DC during WWII. She also worked at Frum’s Stores, Kelley’s Grocery and the Big W Restaurant as a waitress. She retired from Colin Anderson Center in St. Mary’s. Joan was also a treasurer for the Sistersville Riverfront Senior Center for eight years and a faithful volunteer for the Sistersville Library. She was a member of the Friendly United Methodist Church where she participated in the church choir and the United Methodist Women and she also attended the Sistersville United Methodist Church. Joan was a loving, giving and faithful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Avery K. Stewart. She is survived by daughters, Diana (Gene) Adkins of St. Mary’s, WV, Cathy (Carl) Weekley of Friendly, WV and Janet (Steve) Hadley of Sistersville, WV; brothers, Donald (Irene) Frum of Bens Run, WV, Paul “Beanie” (Louise) Frum of Bens Run, WV, and David (Linda) Frum of Friendly, WV; sister, Pat (“Putt”) Deaton of McConnelsville, OH (fomerly of Friendly, WV); five grandchildren, Philip (Jennifer) Adkins, Joy (Jason) Owen, Chad Northcraft, Shay (Steve) Seago, Brian Northcraft and four great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Sistersville Riverfront Senior Center at 721 Chelsea Street, Sistersville, WV 26175 or Sistersville United Methodist Church Community Prayer Chapel at 515 Main Street, Sistersville, WV 26175. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 with the funeral Friday at 1:00 pm at Myers Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Dawson and Reverend Gene Adkins officiating.
