Joanne Margaret (Baker) Ingram, 80, of Sistersville, WV passed away October 6, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a battle with lung cancer. She was born March 12, 1932 in Middlebourne, WV, she was the only daughter of the late Burl M. and Sadie M. Milbourn Baker. Joanne was a 1950 graduate of Tyler County High School and a 1953 graduate of the Ohio Valley Hospital School of Nursing where she earned a degree in nursing. Over her 46 year nursing career she worked as a RN at Sistersville General Hospital, Middle Island Health Clinic, Wetzel County Hospital, the former Moundsville State Penitentiary and the former Colin Anderson Center. Her greatest love was working at Sistersville General Hospital where she worked many years on the night shift and had served as Director of Nursing. She kept busy on the family farm canning the vegetables raised in her large garden every summer. She also devoted a lot of time to quilting, crocheting and sewing. She gifted her family members with her handcrafted items. She was a faithful member of the Pursley Church of Christ for over 50 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, William P. Ingram, and their four children, Tracy J. (William) Fletcher, Timothy B. Ingram, Marsha A. (Arlen) Wells, and Sara M. (Neal) Soles all of Sistersville, grandchildren, Julia and Jessa Fletcher, Aaron Ingram, Amber Fitzpatrick, Kassandra Ingram, Eli and Ethan Wells, Neal and Mason Soles, great-grandchildren, Mya Ingram, Ryen and River Fitzpatrick, Landon Wells, brothers, Donald K. (Linda) Baker, William M. (Janet) Baker, sister-in-law, Nellie Baker and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, James R. Baker and a daughter-in-law, Diana L. Ingram. Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Myers Funeral Home, Sistersville, WV with Evangelist Tom Butterfield officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. The family is requesting in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Journey Hospice, 314 S. Wells Street, Sistersville, WV 26175 in Joanne's name.
