John Raymond "Herk" Stewart, Jr., 81, of Sistersville, WV, passed away, October 15, 2017 at home. He was born December 9, 1935, in Sistersville, WV, a son of the late John R. Stewart, Sr. and Emma Brewer Stewart. Herk worked at PPG, Moundsville Penitentiary, Eckels Furniture, Bell's Chevrolet and he owned and operated Stewart's Appliance Service. He was also a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the Sistersville Church of the Nazarene and lately attended the Pursley Church of Christ where he became very good friends with Evangelist Tom Butterfield. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan and he dearly loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his son, Jeffrey (Patty) Stewart and daughter, Kim (Donnie) Binegar, both of Sistersville, WV; sister, Ann Kendle of Paden City, WV, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Lough Stewart, sister, Carolyn Placer and great-grandson, Bradyn Hess. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 4-8 pm at Myers Funeral Home. The funeral will be Thursday at 11:00 am at Myers Funeral Home with Evangelist Tom Butterfield officiating.
