John F. Krieger

John F. Krieger, 72, of Jena, LA, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2011 at home. John was born February 13, 1939, a son of the late John Krieger and Blanche Krieger. He was a retired coal mine foreman and a retired US Marine. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and he was a Christian by faith. John is survived by his wife, Kay Krieger; son, John (Carol) Krieger of Beech Bottom, WV; stepsons, David (Nancy) Prigga of Sistersville, WV and Michael Prigga of Arkansas; daughters, Lori (Bob) Whiting of Wheeling, April (Ronnie) Krieger of McKinney, TX and stepdaughter, Suzanne (Kenneth) Stapleton of Jena, LA; sister, Marlene Habig of Shadyside, OH; grandchildren, Zachary Krieger, Keith Whiting, Jimi Whiting, William Whiting, Charles Krieger, Brittany Krieger, Jonnielynn Krieger, Steven Krieger, Emily Collins and Trenton Collins; and great- grandchildren, Jayden Krieger, Jakori Cox, Lennon Bane and Wyatt Krieger; and stepgrandchildren, Katie Rowe, Mason Rowe and Hannah Stapleton. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2011 at the Myers Funeral Home with Reverend Larry Grimes officiating. Visitation will be Thursday 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery with military graveside rites. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Alexandria VA Medical Center, Attn.
