John Clinton Racer died Wednesday, October 29, 2008 due to pancreatic cancer. He was born on May 18, 1954 in Steubenville, Ohio. He was a resident of Lakeland, Fla. since 1984, and formerly of Sistersville, W.Va. He was a supervisor with W.T.G. Construction and a member of the Elks Lodge #333 in Sistersville. Mr. Racer was also a member of Scottish Rite of Free Mason, Valley of Tampa Orient of Florida where he was a 32nd degree Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clinton and Lola Racer. He is survived by his wife, Lelia Racer, of Lakeland, Fla.; his children, Todd Racer and his wife, Shannon, Andy Racer and Casey Racer, all of Lakeland, Fla.; his sister, Becki Holliday, of Indiana; his brother, Henry Racer, of Orange Park, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Kylie, Taylor and Addison Racer, all of Lakeland, Fla. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at Archers Chapel United Methodist Church at Little, W.Va. Burial will follow in Archers Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Myers Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Sistersville, W.Va.
