John James Welch, 89, of Wick, WV, passed away November 4, 2018 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born April 19, 1929, in Parkersburg, WV, a son of the late Howard Welch and Elizabeth "Bess" Weigle Welch. He was the owner of Stadium Denture and Wickhaven Alpaca Farm. He was the Valedictorian of Georgetown Dental School. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and a member of the Sistersville Church of the Nazarene. He is survived by his son, Daniel (Karen) Welch of Paden City, WV; daughters, Melissa Placer of Sistersville, WV and Tabatha (Sharon Stackpole) Welch of Eagle Point, OR and eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Grimm Welch in 2010; son, Jon Jeffrey Welch and siblings, Bob, Bud, Virginia, Mary and Margaret. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601. Services will be Sunday at 2:00 pm at Myers Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Llewellyn officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 4-7 pm at Myers Funeral Home.
