Junior Franklin "Fuzzy" Placer

Placer, Junior Franklin “Fuzzy”, age 91, of Sistersville, WV passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Genesis of Sistersville Center. He was born on December 5, 1925 in Sistersville, a son of the late Charles and Mary Smith Placer. Junior retired from the former Ormet Corp., Hannibal, OH working on the Pot Line; was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Italy and Japan and was a member of the Little United Methodist Church, Little, WV. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Delores “Tommy” Placer on October 12, 2005; one daughter, Shyrill Crebar; one brother, Jack Placer; one sister, Mary Virginia Placer; one great grandson, Joey Frederick and a son-in-law, Bill Arnold. Surviving are five daughters: Peggy (Gary) Sandy of Stoneville, NC, Barbara Arnold of Newark, OH, Mary (Randy) Husk of West Union, WV, Deanna “Dee Dee” Frederick of Glenville, WV and Christina (Greg) Keys of Sistersville, WV; one sister: Shirley Felton of Middlebourne, WV; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Myers Funeral Home, 600 Main St., Sistersville where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday with Rev. Don Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Sistersville with full military graveside rites.
