Katherine Eddy Straight

Katherine Eddy (Straight), 88, of Sistersville, WV, passed away January 3, 2010. She was born January 3, 1922, a daughter of the late Charles Glendening and Jane Bunting Glendening. She was a homemaker, a member of the Church of Christ, a member of the VFW Post #6327 of Sistersville and a member of the American Legion Post #67 of Sistersville. She is survived by daughters, Patsy (Carmen) Oliverio of Clarksburg, WV, Sally (Allen) Brown of Friendly, WV, and Sue Smith of Sistersville, WV; eleven grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren and fourteen great great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Eddy; granddaughters Angela Jobes and Pamela Brown; brothers, Joe Glendening, Ray Glendening, Charles Glendening and Earl Glendening; and sisters, Olive Hannen, Unice Hannen and Lett Gonzales. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2009 at the Myers Funeral Home, Sistersville, with Evangelist Tom Butterfield officiating. Interment will be at Lazears Chapel. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank HospiceCare, Inc. and New Martinsville Healthcare Center for the wonderful care that Katherine received while she was in their care.
