Kenneth Stewart, 80, of Philippi, WV, passed from this life July 1, 2012. He was born June 10, 1932, in Sistersville, a son of the late Harry Stewart and Alice Broughman Stewart. Kenneth worked in the computer department at Union Carbide. He was a US Navy veteran serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church in Philippi and a former member of the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Paden City. He was involved in sports both playing and coaching, he was on the Paden City Council, one of the organizers of the Paden City emergency squad, volunteered in hospitals and many community organizations and served on numerous committees at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. He was his daughter’s biggest supporter. He loved her and his grandchildren unconditionally. He carried a cross in his pocket and his family in his heart. Kenneth had overcome cancer, diabetes, a lung transplant, skin cancer and other physical ailments before the Lord took him into his care. He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Donna Weaver Stewart of Philippi; daughter, Charla (Jack) Reger of Belington, WV; grandchildren, Whitney Reger of Belington, WV and Colin (Jessica) Reger of Fairmont and great-grandson, Keegan Reger of Fairmont, WV. Visitation will be Thursday, July 5, 2012 from 11:00 – 1:00 pm with the funeral starting at 1:00 pm at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Paden City. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
