Larry "L.J." Joe Starkey

Larry Joe “L.J.” Starkey, age 41, of Painesville, OH (formerly of Sistersville, WV) died Friday, March 29, 2019 at University Hospital, Cleveland, OH. He was born on May 31, 1977 in New Martinsville, WV, a son of Larry Joe and Donna Sue Smith Starkey of Sistersville (Davenport community) whom still survive. L.J. was an employee of Ohio Paving and was a Protestant by faith. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his paternal grandfather, John Stanley Starkey of New Martinsville, WV; three children: Justin Alexander Starkey Forrester of Syracuse, NY, Trenton Matthew Starkey and Brenna Shae Starkey both of Fairport Harbor, OH; his loving companion of 16 years, Melody Taylor of Painesville, OH; two brothers: Scott (Valerie) Starkey of Friendly, WV and Shaun Starkey of Sistersville, WV; one niece, Raelyn Starkey of Friendly, WV and three nephews. Kaleb Starkey of New Martinsville, WV, Hunter and Tanner Starkey both of Friendly, WV. He was preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Mary Jane Starkey and maternal grandparents, Charles Lloyd and Dolly Smith. Private visitation and graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Friendly Cemetery, Friendly, WV.
