Lawrence C. "Larry" Harper

Harper, Lawrence C. “Larry”, age 59, of Sistersville, WV and Little Hocking, OH died Friday, February 19, 2016 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV. He was born on April 30, 1956 in Warner Robins, GA a son of the late Drury Lawrence and Barbara Jean Welch Harper. Larry retired as a Master Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force with 16 years of servicewhere he was a meteorologist. He graduated from Eastern High School and received a degree in Meteorology from the U.S. Air Force. Larry was a member of the Little Hocking United Methodist Church; a member of the American Legion Post # 15, Parkersburg, WV; loved to collect movies; loved observing wildlife; loved animals, especially his two dogs, Wiggles and Muffy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Lewis Harper. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Kraus Harper; three step-children: Robert Wayne (Kim) Maxwell of Friendly, WV, David (Shelley) Maxwell of Pursley, WV and Jerry (Becky) Maxwell of Friendly, WV; two step-grandchildren: Daniel and Evan Maxwell; one sister: Carolyn (Tom) Matheny of Vincent, OH. Friends will be received at the Myers Funeral Home, 600 Main St., Sistersville, on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Gene Adkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Paden Memorial Gardens, Paden City, WV with full military graveside honors.
