M. Chute

Gene Chute, 73, of Sistersville, WV, passed away February 14, 2011 at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital. Gene was born December 19, 1937, a son of the late Laurence Chute and Brenice Irene Casto Chute. He was a retired welder at Ormet, a member of the Sistersville Elks BPOE #333, past Exalted Ruler, Wetzel Masonic Lodge #39, JCI Senator and Pee Wee and Pop Warner Football Coach, past WV District Deputy and WV Elk of the Year. Gene is survived by his wife, Linda Saffield Chute of Sistersville; sons, John (Ann) Chute of Haymarket, VA and Mark (Melissa) Chute of McDonough, GA; daughter, Jennifer (Gary) Candel of Bucyrus, OH; grandchildren, Chase Chute, Christian Chute and Boston Chute and Alexandra Holcomb; brother, Paul Chute and sisters, Ruby Sinnett, Ressie Wells, Kathryn (James) Williamson, June Schmidt; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and his best buddies, Punken and Prince. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Tomlinson and brothers, Charles and James Chute. Services will be Friday at 11:00 am at Myers Funeral Home with Reverend Colleen Griffith officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 at Myers Funeral Home.
